ALINE OLIVE EVANS (nee Redington) 1917 - 2010 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Aline on Sunday, July 4 at South Lake Regional Health Centre. She was the beloved wife of 65 years of the late Glyn James Evans. Aline leaves behind her 2 sons Gary and wife June, H. Douglas and wife Elizabeth, plus 5 grandchildren Arwen and husband Philip, Shanna and husband Stephen, Ryan, Glyn and Cynthia; and 3 great- grandchildren Aubrey, Taya and Kyra. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Glyn and brother Eugene, sisters-in-law Gladys and Eluned, brothers-in- law Connie, Ralph and David; she is survived by sisters-in-law Freida and Betty, and numerous nieces/nephews, grand and great in both Alberta and Ontario. Aline was born and raised in Amisk, AB. She graduated from Teachers College and taught school in the Camrose, AB area until her marriage to Glyn. WWII took them to Halifax, NS and then to Lachine, QC prior to Glyn's posting overseas when she returned to Alberta. Aline and family moved to Don Mills, ON in 1960. She was a Charter Member of the Donalda Club, where she continued to enjoy curling and took up golfing. Aline and her team from Donalda won many Curling Bonspiels in and around Southern Ontario. She was an avid gardener and her friends loved to see her garden in bloom. She was also an avid sports fan who loved Canadian football and baseball (Aline was an excellent fastball player in her youth in Alberta). At her request, there will be no funeral. A Memorial and Celebration of her life will be held at the Donalda Club on Sunday, July 18 from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Feed the Children, the Canadian Cancer Society, Scouts Canada or Texas Children's Hospital at http://waystogive.
