I had the pleasure of meeting Dr.Z in the early 90s. Quite the gentleman. I still talk about him frequently as when I was at his house and his kids were quite young, he was
talking to them in 3 different languages. RIP Dr. Z!

So sorry to hear of Allan's death. We worked together in Toronto when he was senior OBGYN resident and I was a junior resident. He was a lot of fun and a good friend.

Back in the '70s, Allan held a small gathering at his residence on Waxwing featuring a well known pianist performing on Allan's grand piano. I asked Allan whether he would be performing as well. Allan advised that it would be very inappropriate for anyone to perform after the guest pianist. The guest pianist then performed. About 15 minutes later I heard the piano being played. I was surprised to see that it was Allan who was then playing! I had been unable to tell any difference in quality between what was played by the guest and what was played by Allan.
Allan was an excellent pianist.

So very sorry to hear this; my sincere condolences to his family. My husband and I have always held Dr. Zerafa in very high regard. Our elder daughter, who just turned 40, owes her life to the consummate skills of Dr. Zerafa. She had shoulder dystocia and he deftly delivered her into the world "virtually unscathed," according to the pediatrician called in to attend to her. Dr. Zerafa told me weeks later, "it took all of my experience to deliver your daughter." I asked how long he'd been an ob/gyn: 25 years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Rest eternal grant unto Dr. Zerafa, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
