ALLEN McCANDLESS Obituary

ALLEN ROY McCANDLESS Born October 2, 1919. Born again at age 14 through the words of Luke 18:13 - "God be merciful to me a sinner". Joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941. Married Ruth Kember on August 26, 1944. Discharged from the RCAF in 1945 and bought a farm near Port Stanley. Raised six children, all of whom (along with their spouses) are in fellowship in local assemblies of Christians. Over his lifetime, Allen was a faithful member of Christian assemblies in St. Thomas, ON, Garnavillo, IA, Hickory, NC and Thornhill, ON. At the time of his passing, he was a valued member of the assembly meeting in the Langstaff Gospel Hall. He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Murray and Shirley, Tim and Betty and Jim and Daiva and his three daughters and their husbands, Esther and John Kregel, Mary and David Zuidema and Rachel and Andrew Ussher. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, one daughter Rhoda and one granddaughter Olivia. Allen is now at home with the Lord.
