ANDREA JANE WINTERS

ANDREA (ANDY) JANE WINTERS December 17, 1925 - November 2, 2016 Very gently and peacefully slipped into the Lord's arms with two of her daughter's arms wrapped around her and eagerly welcomed by her late husband Howard (2005) of 58 years. Andrea was born and raised in Toronto and moved to Erin in the late 1940s with her new husband. Andrea sang in a youth choir for the queen Mother. She helped with the war effort. Andrea worked as an Executive Secretary for Fisher- Price Canada and managed an industrial and commercial furniture manufacturing company. Andrea was the original liberated woman and one of countless talents. Andrea enjoyed knitting, making doll clothes, curling, travelling and caring, as well as advocating for people. As a young woman she loved to dance, ice skate, bowl, walk long distances and watch baseball. She was strikingly beautiful. Her laugh was infectious and she was vivacious and wonderfully unpredictable and fun. She deeply loved her husband and family unselfishly. Andrea was a cherished mother to Margaret Robertson, Marilyn Philbrook, Kathryn Winters, loving grandmother to Russell (Juliette), Sarah, Michael (Kamila), Frank, the late Glen and magical great-grandmother of 5 great-grandchildren. She is survived by sisters Helen Meadows, Shirley Rogerson and James Masters (Ruth). Special thanks to Dr. Bull and his office staff, Dr. McKinnon, Rev. Deacon Irene Walback, nurses and PSWs, neighbors and family, volunteers at the Erin Fire Department, the staff and pharmacists at Erin Rexall Pharma Plus, Bayshore Specialty Pharmacy and Headwater Health Care Centre (Emergency Department), Orangeville. Resting at Butcher Family Funeral Home, 5399 Main Street, South, Erin, on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. Donations in Andrea's memory can be made to the Upper Credit Humane Society or to the Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services (cards available at the funeral home).
