ANDREW POLLOCK Obituary

POLLOCK, ANDREW On April 10, 2019, Andrew Pollock passed away suddenly in Toronto, as the result of a heart attack. Andrew was born on December 7, 1963 to the late Royston and Gwyneth Pollock, in Etobicoke, Ontario. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Beth (Baker), his cherished daughters Emily and Rachel, his brother David and friends too numerous to count. Andrew was a loving family man, devout Christian and highly respected businessman. In addition to his successful marketing career, he always made time for his music. With his band Highgate Road, he performed music that he co-wrote with older daughter Emily. And one of his favourite memories was attending the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas with younger daughter Rachel. Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Islington and Kipling Aves.). The Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Etobicoke. Memorial donations may be made in Andrew's name to the Islington United Church Music program, or Moorelands Camp. Condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

It was of great shock and sadness when I heard the news of his sudden passing. I worked with him briefly at WW and he was the first to make conversation with me - he helped me to feel comfortable and always greeted me with a smile. He always spoke highly of his daughters and his music. I pray that his family and friends are comforted at this difficult time.

Every now and then, you get the chance to work with someone who demonstrates all of the attributes you admire and respect instantly. Talent, skill, honesty, compassion, empathy, and humility, to name just a few. Andrew represented all of these to me. We worked collaborated on deals at Weightwatchers and TGOD, and I knew him casually from years before. It is clear he made a difference to every person whose life he touched. He did to me, very much so. Even though our dealings were limited, they were extremely important, and he was a true partner in all of them, in every sense of the word. I wish his family and friends my deepest sympathies. He was taken from us all far to soon.

I am so sorry to hear about Andrew's passing. I knew Andrew from Dewi Sant Welsh United Church. His Mom Gwyneth was our accompanist for our choir Merched Dewi.
Rest In Peace Andrew. Love and prayers to David, Beth, Emily and Rachel.

Dear Beth;

I was extremely saddened by the news of Andrew's death. He was a great person - accomplished both personally and professionally - and I am positive - a great husband and father. Life can be so unfair at times.

Andrew was an important cog in the original "Heinz Gang" - very passionate about the team and in keeping it connected over the years.

Unfortunately due to travel issues I am unable to attend either the visitation or funeral for Andrew, but my thoughts will be of him and with you over the next while.

With warm regards;

John Lewarne

Dear Beth and family,
I am so terribly sorry. As with so many people, I am blessed to have known Andrew. He was full of laughter and love. I called him Big Daddy! (with gusto) both to celebrate Emily's arrival and in recognition of his always helpful advice. I habitually dropped by his office during my inevitable mid-afternoon energy lull at Heinz. I always left lighter and brighter. I can only think of the countless others he must have touched in such a great way. His example inspires me to do the same.

Andrew truly lived life well. We are so glad we got a chance to see him perform, that is something I will always remember. Not everyone has a chance to live out their passions. What a testament to his wonderful talents, and the loving family who supported and shared in his success.

So sad to hear of this news. Although not in touch recently, Andrew was a friend and role model early in my career. His warmth, wit, and sense of humour, as well as how lovingly he spoke of his family, will be remembered. Beth, Emily, and Rachel, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
