Ann Kernohan Obituary

ANN ELIZABETH (HENSHAW) KERNOHAN The family is sad to announce the passing of Ann Elizabeth (Henshaw) Kernohan at Toronto General Hospital on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Ann was 64 years of age, born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 10, 1946. She married Robert Kernohan on October 13, 1973. Ann is survived by her loving husband Robert Kernohan as well as their children Preston Kernohan and his girlfriend Marley Gregg and Janine Rorke (Kernohan) and her husband Joel (children Mackenzie Ann, Eric David, Matthew Robert and Everley Elizabeth), as well as her mother Ruth Henshaw. Also survived by her siblings Betty Lutley (Henshaw) and her husband Don, Paul Henshaw and his wife Nancy, her sister-in-law Doreen Henshaw and her brother-in-law Wayne Kernohan. Predeceased by her father Joseph Henshaw and her brothers Don Henshaw his wife Betty, and David Henshaw. Ann will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her many friends. Ann grew up in Toronto, Ontario and was part of a big and happy family. After marrying Robert Kernohan, the two moved to Cambridge, Ontario where she worked as a Teacher and left the career to raise her two children. Ann's battle with Leukemia lasted for some time and her battle was one that had her never give up. The help she got from doctors and hospitals was so important to her. Princess Margaret, Toronto General, Cambridge Memorial were so helpful and supportive. Her times spent at Guelph Memorial were incredibly warm and caring, times she never forgot. Ann had high expectations for everyone she met and would do anything possible to support them. Visitation on Wednesday, April 20, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., at Dale Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge. Her funeral will be Thursday, April 21 at First Mennonite Church, 800 King Street E., Kitchener. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Funeral at 11:30 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, please support your local blood bank or the charity of your choice.

My sincerest sympathies to Bob and Ann's family during this very sad time. I know family meant alot to Ann and you're in my thoughts and prayers. It was my pleasure to have known her for 5 years as she was such a remarkable woman and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
