ANN KURDYAK Obituary

KURDYAK, ANN May 22, 1939 - November 30, 2022 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ann Kurdyak on November 30, 2022, at the age of 83. Ann passed suddenly, but peacefully. Ann was born May 22, 1939, and was the daughter of Ksenia and Wasyl. Her brother is Victor; nieces, Karen and Claire; and nephews, Stephen and Paul. Ann had an extended family of friends from every walk of life. Ann attended North Toronto High School, and later studied nursing at the University of Toronto. She practiced nursing and worked in different areas of healthcare throughout her career. Ann was born, raised and resided in the vibrant city of Toronto. She thrived in this city, loving her walks exploring architecture, art, new restaurants and meeting new fashion designers along the way. She was always on the go and in the know with respect to culture and living life to the fullest. Ann wintered in San Miguel De Allende over the past 30 years, where she developed many beautiful friendships and explored her love of art, jewellery and design. She loved the social life and culture of that artistic community. Her new journey takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, singing in the opera, surrounded by amazing art and exploring architecture, while eating all the sweet custards along the way. Her stylish, beautiful presence will be greatly missed.

Ann was truly "one of a kind." We were friends for many years (since 1989) before losing touch. I remember her as energetic, generous and so creative. She is missed.

My memories of Ann are many. Playing tennis at the Boulevard club, doing long walks for many years with our close friends Ernestine and Terri, traveling to San Miguel de Allende and staying at various locations together. Going to the Toronto islands almost every summer. Celebrating our birthdays together each year. What sticks with me the most is Ann's giggle and her amazing courage for living- never complaining even though she was in quite a bit of pain and discomfort. Even though I was not able to visit Ann often, I was able to see her outside during COVID and later on at Amica. We talked on the phone whenever possible. I will miss her so much

My condolences to Vic and Karen and the other members of the family.
