I am so sorry to hear of Annie's passing. Although I have not seen her for many years I remember her smiling eyes and zest for life well. She was a dear friend of my mother, Liz Hickerson, who we also lost recently. I know Liz loved Annie like a sister. May you find solace in the loving memories you have of her.

Anne was a inspiration to me both in business and in life. I learned a great many lessons from her while we worked together. I will always remember our trip to Granville Island together, we had a blast! Barb, I am heartbroken for you, I love you both for the gifts you have given me. My condolences, my sympathies, but most of all; my respect and admiration. I will miss you Anne. Say hi to dad for me :)

I'd like to express my deepest sympathy to all of Anne's family and to her best friend, Barbra.
I thought the world of Anne and will treasure my many wonderful memories of her.
One standout memory I have of Anne is her enthusiastic and vigorous laugh. It would burst from her with great gusto when her finely honed sense of humour was aroused - which was often!
I'll also remember Anne's playful sense of style. I find it impossible to think of her without imagining her wearing one of her many pairs of enormous earrings and, of course, carrying it off with flair.
One particular memory of Anne I hold especially dear involves her beautiful singing voice. I wasn't home on my birthday last year, but upon my return I was treated to Anne's full rendition of Happy Birthday on my phone answering machine. It was so lovely, so thoughtful and just so typical of Anne.
I'll end with just one more cherished memory. Once, when we were parting company and about to hug goodbye, Anne suddenly announced: "I give really, really good hugs". She was absolutely right.....and I'll really, really miss those hugs.
Bye for now, Annie. Love you.

Our dear Annie came into my life when I was particularly fragile. It was so odd how it came about, that it can't have been by chance. She helped me make sense of what was happening and gently got me to focus on what was most important. We built a friendship that will live in my heart forever.

I say hello to Anne, her spirit sings around, free of the body that had failed her. I only knew her a while and in that short time had an opportunity to see what a lovely person she was and how well she treated her animal and human friends. I was fortunate to build the website for her Wigglebums Doggie Daycare and we had fun discussing it and coming up with cute ideas. Should you desire to see Annie’s vision it is found at www.wigglebums.ca
I will miss being able to finish the project with such an easy and reliable person to work with. Sing on Annie! I will look for you in spirit!
Your friend, Laurie

A Friend Is A Treasure
A friend is someone we turn to, when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure, for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives with beauty, joy and grace and makes the world we live in a better and happier place.
How does one say goodbye, when it seems like yesterday we said our first hello.
Ann and I meet 45 years ago when we both attended high school together. Things seemed to be different then. When we went to school, there was a group of girls that hung out together. It was normal to have "slumber" parties on Friday night and if someone was lucky enough to get the use of their parents car we would go "cruisin" and end up at the A&W in Bronte for Rootbeer and Coney Fries.
After high school Ann got a volkswagon bug and we drove every day to Toronto to our first jobs. What I remember about Anns car was that it had no radio, so we were the radio and we would sing our way along the QEW and onto the Gardiner where the car took the famous bump and we would get lifted off our seats.
Ann decided at some point to move to the big city and I stayed in Oakville and eventually took a job there.
Even though we didn't see each other often, I remember clearly the day Ann arrived at my front door to tell me she had had a brain tumour and even though she had lingering side effects she was so happy to be alive. Then there was another time she arrived to tell me she and Barb were leaving Ontario to begin a new life in Victoria. Adventure was Anns middle name. She traveled to many places, making new friends wherever she went.....how full her short life was.
Every year when we exchanged Christmas cards, the note from Ann always included.....when are you coming to visit. There always seemed to be some reason that made me say...not this year, maybe next. Well this year, I am not sure what I would call it....but I said I am not putting off my visit. I even bought my plane ticket before I had confirmation from Ann that she would be home. How lucky for me that I was able to spend a few days with my dear friend.
I am truly blessed to have had Ann as a friend.
There is a saying that reads.
Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. Ann will be remembered in my heart today and every day until we meet again.
(these were my thoughts that I shared at gathering held in Ann's honor at her sisters home in Oakville)
