Tony came into my thoughts last week, and I searched him, only to be saddened to learn of his passing several years ago. I hope this message will be recieved by Tony's family.
I met Tony through work, various contracts doing drafting. Let me tell you, he was a draftsman's draftsman.
I immediately admired his approach to drawing and I had tremendous respect for him.
I want to say we met at Vulcan but not quite sure. I believe we also crossed paths at Dieco and also at Intet. We had Winter's Design as our agent.
It was always a comfort, when arriving at a new company on day one, to see Tony there.
Ha ha ha ha it could be totally quiet in the office, then I'd hear
"ok Craig, give us a song".
Or at Intet, Tony would start singing "I said I loved you, but I lied".
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. What a character.
The drafting profession changed when AutoCAD came in. Tony would do his drawing, then check all dimensions using a calculator. I thought "Holy heck, he is a perfectionist".
I'd like to think we met during the golden age of drafting, pre-Autocad.
I send my condolences to Tony's family and hope that this message finds it's way to them.
He was funny as heck, and quite a character!
Sincerely,
Craig Cordier
