My condolences to Tony´s family. Tony was a colleague in the Canadian republican movement and I came to know him, and to admire his commitment to justice, during his brave legal challenge to the Act of Settlement, which was heard in the Ontario Superior Court. He was a founding member of, and a valuable contributor to, the organization, Republic Now, which advocates for a democratically-selected, Canadian head of state, and his insight and good-natured charm will be very much missed by many of us who are active in the republican movement.

Very sorry to hear of Tony's passing. Like others I got to know him in connection with his interest in a free and democratic Canada, ultimately accountable in theory as well as practice to the Canadian people. His court case on the Canadian citizenship oath and his many stalwart stands for democracy in Canada were inspiring, and his active role in Canadian politics will be sorely missed.

My condolences to Tony's family. I had the pleasure of working with Tony several years ago when he contacted me and asked me to review a draft of a book he was planning to publish "Inheriting the Nuclear Genii". I hope he got a chance to publish his book before he got sick. Tony was a special person with lots of energy and purpose even in his early 80's. I am sure you are proud of his accomplishments. May he rest in peace....Paul Acchione, P. Eng., FCAE

My deepest Sympathy to Aldona and family. Tony was a good friend to the Irish Community when I was working for the Irish Tourist Board during the 70's/80's and I got to know him well at that time. He was part of my life for many years and he and Aldona attended many functions in support of Irish Tourism. May he Rest In Peace. A celebration of a life well lived. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

I extend my sincere condolences in this difficult time to the family of Tony O'Donahue. I met him once, over 45 years ago, at a Liberal Party convention. He will, of course, be remembered by most for his long and dedicated service on Toronto city council and on Metro Toronto council.
