ANTHONY VANDERKOLFF Obituary

ANTHONY W. VANDERKOLFF With heavy hearts we must say goodbye to a remarkable man. Tony Vanderkolff passed away on September 5, 2015 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, surrounded by his family and his love, his wife of 61 years, Margaret Vanderkolff (nee Busser). Tony was born in Amsterdam, Holland on February 21, 1930. He had four brothers Bill, John, Carl and Peter. The family moved to Zaandam in the 1940s where he lived until coming to Canada in 1952. Within the year in Canada he met his soulmate and married her on July 17, 1954. His life only got better from this point on. He studied for many years to get his High School Diploma and his ultimate academic achievement, obtaining his CGA. It took many years of hard work and dedication but he was a very intelligent man and he did it while raising his family. He held various jobs in Canada but his main career was his own accounting business in West Hill. Tony will be missed every day by his loving wife Margaret and his children and grandchildren Cathy, John, Matthew, Briana, Peri, Richard, Stephanie and Denise, Tony, Jordan, Aleesha, Jesse and Laura, Erick, Paige and Lucas. The patriarch to our strong and loving family. A great role model and inspiration. We will love and miss you every day until we meet you in Heaven. Visitation will be held at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto, on Thursday, September 10, 2015 between 2:00 and 4:00 and between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow immediately after ceremony. At approximately 2:30 p.m. we will be heading to the cemetery at St. Margaret in the Pines at 4130 Lawrence Avenue East for our final goodbyes. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Sunnybrook Foundation or to Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay.
