Barbara MEYER Obituary

MEYER, Barbara (nee ROBERTS) June 28, 1931 to April 1, 2018 Our beautiful mother Barbara passed away peacefully, with her usual grace and dignity, on Easter Sunday, in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband Albert (2003), loving mother of Ralph (Jane) of Ancaster, Val (Stephen Wallace) of Toronto and Stephen (Lori) of Statesville, North Carolina. Proud Nana to her three grandsons Dan, Dave (Ashley) and Thomas. Dearly loved by her sisters Anne Hall, Pat Lovejoy (Steve Brewer), Carol Perey (deceased) and Nancy Adams (Walter), as well as by her nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Montreal, Barb moved to Ontario with her husband in 1956 and moved from city life to country living in Caledon before retiring in Oakville. Barb's laughter and energy, bright smile, loyalty, her sense of humour and strength are amongst the many gifts we cherish. She was a talented and passionate bridge player and teacher to many. Most of all, she loved her family and the legion of friends who meant so much to her and she to them. Barb's family is grateful for the care she received from staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and we extend heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff at Idlewyld Manor in Hamilton for their loving support and kindness. Friends and colleagues of the family are invited to drop by between 1 – 4 p.m., Sunday, April 15th at Yolanda Spuntino Casa, 49 Bronte Road in Oakville to celebrate Barb's life well lived. Remarks will be offered at 3 p.m. Donations to The Idlewyld Manor Foundation would be much appreciated. Information may be found at idlewyldmanor.com

Condolences to you all on your loss. Barb was such a warm, cheery, friendly person. She was always great to play bridge with, both as partner or opponent. She will be greatly missed and is fondly remembered.
Regards to the Meyer family.
