1930 - 2022

QUAINTANCE, BARBARA JEAN (nee BALFOUR) February 9, 1930 - March 6, 2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother Barbara at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her loving parents Jean and Burrell and siblings Bettie, Doreen and Bill. She leaves behind her six children, Susan Anthony (late Brian), Jacqueline Boros (John), Wendy Collier (Brian), Peter (late Sheila), Edward (Linda), Nancy, and her grandchildren. Mom was most proud of being a mother and looking after each of her babies. After raising her children, she worked for 19 years at the Toronto Public Library and enjoyed the people she met there. She was a voracious reader, avid sewer, embroiderer, knitter, great cook and baker and taught her children the same skills. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered with love and friendship by all who knew her. Visitation at the Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Ave. E. (Warden and Sheppard) on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Private family burial. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or War Amps would be appreciated.
