WEDGE, Barbara Dale (nee Stricker) May 2, 1952 - November 18, 2022 Barbara passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after courageously battling cancer. Beloved wife to Clarence Wedge; and cherished mother to Andrew (Donna), Kevin (Laura Gooding) and Amanda (Robert Barron). Caring sister to Tom, Jim and Joan Stricker. Loving aunt to Lauren Stricker, Steven Stricker, Joey Boudreau and Michael Boudreau. Barbara was born in Toronto, ON, and completed her BA from Carleton University, and her MA in English at the University of Toronto. Over the years, Barbara worked at a bank, and for Heathcliff Development with her father, Herbert Stricker. Eventually Barbara settled into a long and fulfilling career as an English teacher at J. Clarke Richardson. Barbara was a world traveller. She explored England, France, Spain, Italy, and Russia, to name only a few examples. However, no place compared to the cottage at Stony Lake, where Barbara spent many decades of her life, and where the Wedge family shared many of their best memories. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and devotion to her family and friends. Visitation will be held at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, on Wednesday, from 3- 4 p.m., with a service in the chapel at 4 p.m. Reception will follow.
