BARRY ALLEN BEVAN Taken tragically, Sunday, March 16, 2008, while in pursuit of the things he loved. Born, Toronto, March 6, 1943. Beloved husband and soul mate of Marlene (nee Currie) of 42 wonderful years. Proud and loving father of Kelly Morton and husband Shawn of Uxbridge, Kim Setterington and husband Matthew of Hawkestone, Brian and fiancie Alicia Majka of Scarborough, and Jason. Adoring, supportive and loving grandfather of Lindsey, Kylie and Bailey Morton, and Spencer Setterington. Survived by his mother Agnes (nee Watson) of Scarborough, brother Merv Bevan and wife Betty of Kelowna, B.C., many nieces and nephews, and mother-in-law Mary Currie (nee Coffell) of Scarborough. Predeceased by his father Frank and sister Mary Cook. Barry was a teacher of Graphic Arts at George Brown College for 29 years and an emphatic teacher of life. Barry gave completely to his involvements of coaching minor hockey, involvement in Labradors' Owners Club and was passionate about golf, the outdoors, NASCAR, and helping others. Remembered by many who met him in his travels, often bringing together old friends with new whether in Florida, Texas or Madawaska, Ontario, his friends always an important part of his life. Always enriching the lives of those he knew, socially, professionally and recreationally. His positive attitude, love for life and love for his family were inspirational to all who knew him. Barry will be sadly missed by family and many wonderful friends. Memorial service in celebration of Barry's life, will be held on Sunday, April 6th, at West Rouge Community Center, 270 Rouge Hills Drive, Scarborough, Ontario. Service to start at 2:00 p.m. Following the service the family invites you to stay for refreshments. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
