BARRY CARTWRIGHT Obituary
CARTWRIGHT, BARRY JOHN With heavy hearts we announce the death of Barry John Cartwright, on August 20, 2022. Born June 22, 1924, Barry was the only child of Leslie and Ada Cartwright. Barry grew up in the Beaches area of Toronto, attending Malvern Collegiate and later the University of Toronto (Architecture). He married the love of his life, Lois Belle Miller in 1953, a beautiful union which lasted 60 years until Lois' death. Together they lovingly raised 3 children, Leslie (Brian Reilly), Edward (Janis Daly) and John (Melinda). Barry was a loving grandfather to Bennet, Oliver and Quin Reilly, John Jensen, Alisha and Leona Cartwright and great-grandfather to Maverick, Fiona, Parker and Zen Reilly. Barry was naturally optimistic, friendly and good-hearted. He will always be remembered for his never-ending curiosity and attention to detail, his to-do lists and paper clips, as well as his love of modern architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright and "clean lines". We thank him for the family cottage he designed and built and the jazz music he brought to our lives with his piano and "The Band". As a longtime member of Don Heights Unitarian Congregation, we welcome friends to a Memorial Service, Sunday, October 30th, at 1 p.m. (18 Wynford Dr., Ste. 102).
