BARRY SHEPPARD Obituary

BARRY N. SHEPPARD It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry N. Sheppard peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in his 74th year. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Alison; his daughters Jennifer (John) and Aryne; and his granddaughters Claire and Paige. Beloved son of the late Norman and Alice Sheppard, he will also be sadly missed by sister-in-law Collette Luscombe (David); nephews Adam Kadoski (Eva) and Scott Luscombe; cousin John Hymus (Wendy); and dear, lifelong friends Gerry Henden (Christine) who was his best friend for 63 years and Connie Bruggman. Barry will be remembered as a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather who was happiest in the great outdoors camping and fishing. Barry's love of fishing extended to all those he knew with multiple generations of family and friends spending quality time with him, rod in hand, on the water. In recent years Barry fulfilled his lifelong dream of visiting Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands. Barry was a member of the Durham Region Aquarium Society with roles as the Treasurer and Librarian. A service in celebration of his life will be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to www.goldenrescue.ca

Hard to believe, that four years have gone by since Barry passed away. Rarely a day goes by when Im not reminded of him in some small way. It might be something on tv and I think Barry would like that or some distant memory of an event gone by and it always brings a smile to my face and a wish that I could share it with him.
I miss him dearly, Always will

Losing a friend is hard. Losing a Husband and Father even more so.
My sympathy to Alison and family
Barry was my friend and fishing buddy for nearly forty years ever since we started out together at Ibm
I will miss the tall tales and stories that he told (the same ones) year after year and when reminded of that he would pause and continue anyway.
I would give anything to hear those stories again.
Fishing trips without Barry will never be the same.
Farewell my friend.

Barry provided many words of wisdom over 30 years ago while I was just a young guy starting a career at Loblaws.
Those early conversations made me a better person.
You will always be in my heart.
Rest in peace ,
