Blake Weir Obituary

WEIR, Blake (James) - Peacefully with family by his side on October 14, 2009 at Woodhaven Nursing Home in his 94th year. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy May (1990); and his partner Marjorie; and brothers Neil, Ches and Jack. Blake will be fondly missed by his daughters, Marilyn (Bruce), Carol (Brian); and son Jim as well as his grandchildren Sheryl, Dorilyn, Jayme, Erin and Teressa; and great-grandchildren Nicholas and Adam, and his sisters Peggy Lawrie, Ruth Pike, and Nancy (Bill) McCowan. Blake worked in Quebec in the gold mines, served as a milkman for Rutherford Dairy and drove for the Markham Transit. Friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), Markham on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held in the Chapel Thursday at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Markham District Veterans Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Markham Food Bank would be appreciated.
