Brad Morrison was a kind man and a wonderful grandfather. Of all of my memories of times spent with Papa, both as a child in Chateauguay and as teenager and adult visiting him and Nanny in Bath, I cannot think of one time that he was angry or said a bad word about anybody. Mostly I remember sitting as a group on the back porch, either overlooking the golf course or the above-ground pool, and sharing stories and making each other laugh. His sense of humor was the best kind -- clever with a good streak of the bawdy and absurd. His jokes were always understated and well-chosen, yet he was always generous in laughing at my jokes and everyone else's. I have only happy memories of Papa Morrison.

To The Entire Morrison Family,

On behalf of my entire family, including my deceased mother, Sandra Waugh, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of a great man: your father, husband, and grandfather, Brad.

Time will never extinguish the profound feelings of love and compassion that our family felt in Brad's presence.

As many of you know, my mother had the priviledge, and good fortune, of working for Brad (and Otto) in the lab at Ogilvy Flour Mills during the '60's.

Even though I was only a boy at the time, I can recall how much Brad meant to my mother. My own fleeting memories are equally as fond...

Over the last several years, John and I have had the good fortune of reconnecting through a serendipitous meeting (Santa Claus parade in Oakville...), and have had much fun sharing memories of a time, so long ago...

We are all richer for having been touched by Brad's life, and I am fairly certain that I would not be the person I am today, were it not for my mother's relationship with Brad.

Hopefully, they can reconnect in the "great beyond"...

Best wishes to all during this time of sadness,

Sincerely, Mark.

There are no words to adequately express my love and admiration for Brad Morrison, whom I first met 39 years ago. As he drove me home from CEGEP on many occasions, he encouraged my teenage enthusiasm for my new college classes, especially History. He seemed to have a personal story related to everything I came ready to discuss. I never felt that he was just putting up with my banter; he was always kind, patient, and truly engaged in our dialogue. When I married Mitch less than 3 years later, I still had 2 years of university to complete. Thanks to the encouragement of Brad and Nanny Marsh, I knew that I could/should attain my degree.

Throughout the years, and a few moves taking Mitch, Heather, Bryan, Michael, and me further away, we have all made a concerted effort to stay connected. Whenever we telephoned, Brad was always happy to talk to us. I’m sure our speaker phone and multiple phone connections must have been annoying at times, but we all wanted to speak and hear Nanny and Papa’s voices.

As I bemoaned the distance that separated us from our families, Mitch sought ways for us to see them. We were so fortunate that we were able to travel together to some pretty exciting places, but the best place of all was at home. Whenever they could visit, the children would vie for their attention and thrill to have them attend their sporting events or other activities.

This year we were especially blest to have had Brad and Ethel spend some of their winter with us. Playing cards, walking the dog, preparing and eating meals, our simple conversations on the swing and across the table, these will remain among my most cherished memories.

I am so lucky to have had this kind, generous, intelligent, and sophisticated man in my life. He was always patient, calm, and knowledgeable. His was a quiet dignity and, yet, he had a great sense of humour. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. He was a wonderful human being and I am honoured to call him my father-in-law. I shall miss you, Brad.

Dear Nanny,

We will all miss Grampy very much! Tyler and Sarah used to tell him your are our Great grandfather and he used to say "there is nothing great about me!" I beg to differ! He was a wonderful fun loving grampy to me and an even better great-grandfather- I am so lucky to have spent so much time with him as are my kids. We will miss our Grampy Morrison!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Brad for the past 18 years. Both he and Ethel welcomed me into the Morrison family 16 years ago and I could not have asked for kinder in-laws. Brad was an extraordinary man and an exceptional husband, father and grandfather who truly enjoyed moments with his family. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time and conversing with Brad especially on his favourite topics---food, nutrition and bread. I have never met, nor do I expect to meet in my lifetime, another man with such a quiet, dignified, intelligent and charismatic presence. I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to know Brad and am especially thankful that my children, Cory and Curtis had such a wonderful "Grampy" whom they will never forget. We will love and miss you forever, Brad. You are forever in our hearts and minds. Thanks for all of the precious memories you have given us.
