BRUCE THOMSON Obituary

THOMSON, BRUCE With heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of Bruce MacLeod Thomson, age 66 of Halifax (formerly Bracebridge, Ontario), on July 18, 2022, in Palliative Care, VG Site of the QEII Hospital. Born in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, he was the only son of Mary Margaret (MacLeod) and the late Hugh MacIntosh Thomson. Bruce is survived by his wife of 28 years, Antoinette Lee Zena (Russell) Thomson; sons, John William, James Duncan; Alexander Hugh; daughters, Allison Katherine and Mary Margaret; his mother, Mary; and many family and friends who will miss him dearly. Besides his father Hugh, Bruce was predeceased by his stepfather, Francis J. Himsl. A Private family graveside service will be held at St John's Cemetery in Scotsburn, NS. Charitable donations in Bruce's name may be made to an educational institution or any charity of one's choice. My heartfelt condolences to Bruce's family and friends. Although Bruce and I did not work in the same office, I always loved it when I was assigned to Muskoka/Parry Sound as that meant I was able to chat with Bruce. Bruce was always so caring, proud of his family and had a real passion for helping his community. The loss of Bruce is felt by many.
