BRYAN RODIE Obituary

RODIE, BRYAN ROBERT Bryan Robert Rodie passed away peacefully, March 9, 2023. Bryan was born on September 22, 1941 to Elsie and James Rodie in Windsor, Ontario. Bryan graduated as an electrical engineer in 1965. Bryan secured his first professional position at Ontario Hydro working in downtown Toronto, where he met Nancy Cooper and they were married August 19, 1967. Bryan was a devoted father to Dawn (Peter), Allan (Kim) and Trevor (Katie); and loving Papa to his grandchildren, Madeline, Claire, Corinna and Ian. After 28 years rising through the ranks at Ontario Hydro, Bryan retired as Manager of Systems Operations. Bryan launched a second professional career as a successful certified financial planner with the Investors Group, providing mentorship to many. Never idle, Bryan participated in many hobbies and sports, including coaching his children's hockey and soccer teams. While some of his favourite activities included curling, sailing and playing lacrosse. He spent many years renovating the family cottage for everyone to enjoy during decades of making happy memories. He will be missed by many as we stand on the foundation he has left behind. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga, L4W 5J1. Visitation at 1 p.m. Service starts at 2 p.m. followed by Reception.

We were honored to be part of Bryan's Service to celebrate his life.
The service was deep with emotion and love and paid tribute to Bryan's remarkable, well lived life. It captured his life legacy of ethics, core values and to always do the right thing to the best of one's ability. It was clear from the eulogies that everything he did was for pure love of family.
Nancy, may you and your family find peace and comfort to know that Bryan's memory will live forever in the hearts of your children and grandchildren. He will never be forgotten.
Bryan checked off all the boxes in his "To Do List - Life Journey". Job well done Bryan! You have earned your wings.
May eternal rest be granted unto him.
May his soul Rest in Peace for eternity.

With fond memories,
Mary and Casey Wanca-Faria

Allan, Dawn and Trevor and family. So sorry for your loss. Lisa, Dylan Brooke and I send our blessings and prayers to you and your families. Mr Rodie was a great mentor to me growing up. He coached me in soccer and made the hockey rink for yrs in the back yard. He also picked us up from Sherkston Beach as well! Nothing but great fun memories. He will be missed.
