CAROL PEET Obituary

CAROL LINN PEET (nee LINN) December 12, 1940 - November 22, 2015 Carol was born in Simcoe, Ontario to parents Robert Linn and Helen Linn (both deceased), and was also predeceased by her special sister Gayle. She lived in Lynedoch, Ontario until teacher's college and was a Kindergarten Teacher extraordinaire until retirement in 1996. After retirement, Carol - with sporadic fumbling assistance by her spouse Drummond - operated a horse training, breeding, boarding, riding and horse lessons "business" at their farm on the hill in Tiny Township. Surviving are her husband Drummond, son Robert Tyler (spouse Hilary), grandchildren Hazel (4), Arlo (2), daughter Tara Linn Ruth, special nieces Alyson (Mike) and Kristyn and their children Alejandra and Isabella, Mckenna and Piper. Carol was the light of our family. She extended love and compassion in all hall that she walked. She was truly one of God's special people, touching the hearts of all she met. She had the gift of communication with horses and loved every animal she ever encountered. We feel so very blessed to have had her as a wife, as a mother, as an aunt, as an endearing friend. She lived the motto, "pass it on". Carol fought her lengthy battle with cancer with indomitable courage, determination and without complaint. Special thanks to all the caring and compassionate nursing staff at the Georgian Bay General Hospital with a special thanks to CCAC nurses Nicole and Sara who exhibited extraordinary skill, warmth and compassion to us all, and a warm thank you to doctors Bruno Golisky and Rick Coutts. Initially resting at the Nicholls Funeral Home, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave., Midland, on Friday, November 27th from 2-7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. A celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Midland, on Friday, December 18, 2015. Donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Mrs. Peet was my kindergarten teacher at Bayview Public School, where I attended until grade 8. She was my all time favourite teacher with a heart of gold. Winning the students over year after year, creating lasting memories. She will be greatly missed and I forever hold her dear in my heart. Biggest hugs! Carol xo

Mrs. Peet was my teacher in junior kindergarten back in 1968-69. At the end of each day, we'd sing "Until another day, we fold our hands and pray..." She left Maple Leaf School the following year, so I never saw her again. I have often wondered what became of her. From the notice, I have learned that she led a full and happy life and that she was a blessing to everyone around her. May God bring you comfort during this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear of Carol's passing. I know she was very much loved - I particularly remember her joyful giggle. Much love and deepest sympathies to the family - Drum, Ty & Hilary, and Tara.

You were a wonderful kindergarten teacher, teaching us kindness, empathy and sharing. I bring what you taught me into my own classroom everyday and into life. Very saddened by the news.

Mrs Peet, I know the day comes when we are called back to our Creator but that does not make it any easier for any of us. Funny how most of my public school memories are from kindergarten, goes to show the impact on lives you had. The wax birthday cake was brought out to celebrate each birthday as they came. I also remember you telling me one day when my sister and I were picking up her children from school "Sheri, if you want me to teach your children you had better hurry up and have them". There are so many memories, thank you for all those now may you rest peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family xoxo

Mrs.Peet - you were an amazing woman, teacher and mother. I was your kindergarten monitor for 3 years and you even taught me how to print all over again!! My first babysitting job was taking care of Tara & Tyler. I have great memories of both of them! I didn't have $5. to purchase our Grade 8 Graduation photo so you bought me mine as a graduation gift. I never forgot that. I was blessed growing up; to have had you in my life. You've truly earned your wings Mrs. Peet. GOD BLESS! And to the family, I am so sorry for your loss - sending you my deepest of condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers! She will never be forgotten ***
