Cecelia LEE Obituary
LEE, Cecelia Catherine (nee BAEHR) March 1, 1940 - December 27, 2022 Passionately loved wife of Lawlor (Bill); and mother to Barbra, Mary-Jo (predeceased 1994) and Jeffrey. Best mother-in-law to Darryl (Newbury) and Sabina (Djedovic). Very loved grandmother to Sage, Connor and his partner Kathryn, Keegan, Sienna, Quinn, Sequoia and Talon. Ceil deeply loved her siblings, Barbara, Kenny, Phillip and Justin (deceased 1990). Ceil was a great animal lover, and particularly loved her dogs. She was a committed activist in social justice, with a deep dedication to Indigenous Rights. Cecelia was born in Texas, and grew up in Galveston and Houston. She met her Canadian husband at the University of St. Thomas, in Houston. After their marriage in 1964, they moved to Toronto where they spent the majority of their lives together, having travel adventures to Uganda, Australia, Europe, Sri Lanka, Japan and Central America. Ceil was also a great lover of nature, and some of her best times were spent at a second home in the country (Dead Bear Farm… it's a long story), owned by Ceil and Bill with their best friends, John, Linda and Nancy. Ceil was also an accomplished photographer, researcher and writer. Cecelia and her great, sharp wit will be very missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Indspire, Anishnawbe Health Toronto or the Toronto Humane Society.
