Cecil John Smith "Cec" Baird

BAIRD, Cecil John Smith 'Cec" - Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the age of 93 in Peterborough. Cecil was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba on July 3, 1916. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 64 years, Patricia (nee Blew); his son Douglas (wife Donna) of North Vancouver and grandsons Ryan and Christopher. Predeceased by his brothers Gordon and Nelson (members of the RCAF, killed in action in WWII) and Charles. Cec was a proud WWII Veteran, Paratrooper in the British Royal Artillery (FOU RA). Retired from Westroc Industries. Longtime member of Trinity United Church. Past President of Peterborough Sales & Ad Club. Member of Trafalgar Masonic Lodge No. 712 (Oakville) and Peterborough Lodge No. 155. Former member of Kawartha Golf & Country Club. A memorial service will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 360 Reid St., Peterborough on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 1 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge St. If desired, donations can be made in Cec's memory to Trinity United Church.
