I have been away and am catching up on email. I am so saddened at the news of Chuck's passing.
Chuck was a friend to all who met him, he influlenced all of us at Jarvis. His enthusiasm, leadership and wisdon were there in highschool and only grew later in life. Chuck was my first date in 1st form at Jarvis when we attended the football dance and we remained friends throughout the 5 years at JCI. Oh the memories that his name brings back - parties on the Toronto island, at my house, sock hops, all our teachers, all those extra curricular activities etc.
I am sorry that we lost touch after JCI, but I will always be greatful to him for bringing the JCI friends back together.
Good bye my friend, I will miss you.

Dear Marcia,
As one of your classmates I became part of his e-mail list for interesting and funny e-mails. I always enjoyed hearing from him and although I think I only met him once at a TWH nursing class reunion I will still miss hearing from him and indirectly from you as he relayed family occasions that made him so proud. My condolences to you at this very sad and difficult time.

Dear Marcia and family, it was with great sadness I learned, of the passing of your beloved husband, father, father-in-law, and granddad. I am truly sorry and my heart and prayers go out to each of you. You will have many wonderful memories; of special times you shared together, and of Chuck’s kindness and love. You will remember the way he laughed, his smile, the stories he told, the guidance he gave and the example he was. He touched each of your lives in a different way so therefore your grieving will be different. No one can truly understand this journey only you. Personally, I have many fond memories of our five years together at Jarvis, the Glee Club, the Operettas and many other school activities where Chuck used his wonderful God-given talents and abilities to make everything fun and a success. All his hard work and dedication made our 175th Jarvis Reunion the exciting event it was with his e-mails, photography and wonderful smile. He has made a difference in the lives of so many of us and he will be deeply missed. Marcia, hold tight onto your precious memories. Marilyn-anne Quinton (Reid)

Chuck and I never met in person. But we swaped life stories. His was remarkable! All that he overcame to carve many successful careers and create a wonderful family that he was so proud of. Chuck did more than anyone I know to connect the dots of all our lives , that were those magical years at Jarvis. C.I.
Thank you Chuck.
Fondly rememberd and not forgotten

I was deeply saddened when I received the news that Chuck had died.
I remember him fondly as one of the interesting and actively involved
classmates of mine from Jarvis Collegiate - The Gilbert & Sullivan productions,
sports, and creative goofing around.
More recently I enjoyed Chuck's email broadcasts of curios that he came across
on the internet. At times they were so frequent that I created a separate folder
to save them for a future occasion when I could examine them more fully.
I will now have to call it "Chuck's Memorial Folder".
Then the emails stopped coming and I knew that all was not well, and indeed it was not.
I will miss Chuck, but I certainly enjoyed him while he was around.

My sympathies to the family.
I'm sure your memories of him will last as long as mine have. I was a fellow "Page's Guinea Pig" and as well joined him in the operettas with the Glee Club. After I left the country for the States my contacts ended. But fond memories of those times remain. It is with sorrow I have reconnected in this way. My sincere condolences to Marcia and the rest of his family

To Marcia and family:
My sympathy and remorse for you is deep and heartfelt! Chuck and I were the best of friends during our years together at JCI - one of the happiest eras of my life. My fondest memories include the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas; Sunday visits with Chuck's Mom and sister Jean at the Weston Sanitarium to see Chuck's Dad and the time we spent in each others home with our family members. One of my greatest regrets in life was that by leaving Ontario I was not able to enjoy the lifetime of the special friendship with Chuck that I am confidfent would have otherwise evolved. You are blessed to have shared so much of your life with such a special person and I know he will be dearly missed by so many but none as much as you.
With love and compassion,
Barrie & Valerie Smith,

My Deepest Sympathies to the family on the passing of Mr. Carr. He will always hold a very special place in my heart as he has for over the past 45 years when he was my teacher in Grades 5 and 6 at Sprucecourt Public School. He taught us all about life, striving to always do our best and discipline. He will surely be missed.

I came on the Jarvis staff well after Chuck had graduated. We became aquainted over recent 'reunion' years. He exhibited all of the wonderful characteristics that have been, and are, attributed him.
I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to 'work' around him.

Chuck Carr represented the finest in what a human can strive to be. He touched so many lives in so many ways and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him. Chuck leaves all of us inspired to be better.

Chuck was one of the keys to the success of the 175th reunion. His crowded 1950s decade room reflected his personality and driving energy. The walls were covered with photos of the era. He kept the Alumni Association alive and thriving and made a valuable contribution to the school's reputation.

Dear Mrs. Carr:
Chuck had always been very good to me as I tackle on what he had started in the 80's with the Jarvis Collegiate Alumni Association. I shall miss his advice and guidance. He shall be sorely missed. My best impression of him was at Jarvis' Bicentennial Reunion wearing all black carrying his big camera, manoeuvring into everyone's conversation to capture a moment in our time to be forever remembered.
We wish to express our deepest sympathies and we send our condolences to you and your family.

I have many fond memories of Chuck dating back just under 50 years ago when we entered grade nine at Jarvis. He has always been a leader and a support to others. I was impressed by all the time and effort he devoted to our reunion activities. I will miss him and his helpful ways.

Chuck was one of the most welcoming principals when I was appointed Coordinator of Music. We shared times together both with the Toronto Board and later with the Toronto Choristers which were fun filled and musical. We will all miss him.
