Chris,
I used to listen to the Free Design on my radio in Boulder, Colorado.
I was in Junior High School. I was a lonely kid who loved music.
I liked a lot of your songs.
A favorite was Kites are Fun.
It expressed things I felt inside. That life was full of simple and beautiful things. That I was saying goodbye to childhood and life would never seem quite so magical and easy again. That there were things inside me that grownups would never know or understand. Plus, it was just beautiful music. The vocal arrangements were clear and bright. Like an angelic choir.
Thank you, for all of that. Your music still lives inside of me.

Working with Chris on film and television productions is one of the most enjoyable and memorable things we will all treasure. His respect for every aspect of a production, his musical talent and expertise in composition for the moving image, (those blue, blue eyes), and the simple fact that he was a great guy - is truly a shining example of how it should be. Wishing much love and comfort to the family, friends and colleagues he held so dear, with the hope that over time the sorrow felt now with memories of him will turn to warmth, smiles and laughter as the legacy of all that was Christopher Dedrick continues to make us better people.

My memories of Chris date back to our high school years at DMCS. He was always set apart due to his "Gift from God" (his musical ability). I remember our band playing at the cemetery for Memorial Day services...my dad played Taps and Chris was the echo from far away. So haunting.............may someone play Taps for you Chris!

Just got back from visiting my Mom, to find out that Chris has gone. My heart is shuttered, and words just don't come up.
My love and hugs to Moira, Sandra and the family.
