Dear Michael and Maggie,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Clare. We taught together for about 15 years at Fr. Redmond. Throughout that time, she was a supportive and understanding - as well as scrupulously fair -- Department Head. She also generously encouraged me to start our English Writer's Craft course, even though this potentially took students away from her Literature class. May Clare rest in peace; may happy memories bring you some consolation. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Les Borbas

So sorry to hear of Clare's passing. I benefited greatly from her wisdom and insights as the English Head of Department for many years. I never saw her happier than when she talked about her summers in Ireland. Condolences to the family. Sincerely, Michael Cartan.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Clare. We were at U of T together. Then we met again as English department heads at MSSB, now TCDSB. I always looked up to Clare because she had such deep insights and clear thinking. I always enjoyed working with her on different projects. Clare was so intelligent, kind, and sensitive. My condolences to Michael and Margaret.
