On behalf of the Kimens family and extended Kimens family in Alcona, Toronto and Regina, we send our sympathy to the Mackie family. Baz was always very committed to the Alcona Beach Club events when my parents first moved to Alcona. He was devoted to his family, friendly and worked hard in the Innisfil community to make it a better place.
Sincerely,
Maija Kimens and Family

Baz became a very active member of St James United, always quick to lend a hand to painting or fix-up prjects. I am sure he brought this same level of commitment to all activities in his life.

I worked with Baz in the Boylen Family of Schoola. I was at Queensborogh JHS and later principal of Amesbury MS. Bas was a constant source of knowledge, good sense and wit. He was very much a mentor to the inexperienced principal that I was. He was a 'man's man', if such an expression is still acceptable.

Baz did many fine things at VPSS. He was tremendously supportive of the extra curricular program in all it's facets. When Brenda Waterbury and I did the reunion in '85 he was big help. What about those old football films of him? All good memories of THE PRINCiPAl. Gary Moore

Baz set the bar high and it was tough to reinvent the wheel with him in controle at Victoria Park. To this day I still can't figure out how he completed all those handwritten teacher evaluations on time. The Phys Ed Department greatly appreciated his support and involvement.

A wonderful teacher at NHCI and a mentor and colleague in North York years later. Baz defined 'boot camp' in his Phys. Ed. classes long before the term became popular.

We always enjoyed visits with Baz...we especially loved the way he would play/sing 'Just a Closer Walk with Thee' when he would sing with us at Thistletown United Church in the 70's.
Sending our sympathy to the family.

I was Baz's secretary when he was Principal at Vic Park SS and he was such a delight to work with. He was always straight forward and you knew where you stood with Baz. He had a great sense of humour and will be missed by all.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family in the loss of the Great Baz Mackie. I was a charter student at Emery Collegiate in Weston Ont in 1962 and had the fortune of having Baz Mackie as not only a teacher, but also a mentor. He made us achieve the unachievable and made us all believers in attaining the impossible. A great human being and mentor. I as well as other students owe our success to him. His legacy will last forever.

Dear Marilyn & Family
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time. I have wonderful memories of your family when we all lived in Etobicoke - I babysat your children the odd time and first met you Marilyn thru Humbervale Church. What a beautiful legacy Baz has left.
