In 1974 I met Claude at the entrance to ago extension services door each of us on our first day of work. He built exhibitions and installed them throughout Ontario. He was my great friend and inspiration for many years thereafter. We would race to boxes under tables at flea markets for finds early Saturday mornings, and weekday evenings sometime peruse woodworking magazines over cognac. Later he introduced his folk sculptures to me as he made them and expressed his joy and disappointments in them. I loved this man as ever a straight man could love another man, and was so pleased that he found such eternal love in Debra.
I write this now as I will always.....

He was my best friend among many he had. We arrived at door to AGO extension services at the same time in 1974. I recall some evenings when surveyed woodworking magazines over cognac and racing to flea market stalls at 7 am Saturdays to find things in boxes under tables. I am so sorry I only learned of his death now. I will cherish the fine drawing and small painting he gifted me. I only wish I had known, but now I do. Ches taylor
