COLIN DAVIS Obituary

DAVIS, COLIN PETER April 9, 1930 – April 2, 2021 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Colin after a brief illness. He was the loving Father of Sharon Davis and devoted Granddad of Emma Davis. A native of England, Colin immigrated to Canada in 1953 after serving as an officer and Pilot in the Royal Navy. During his business career in Toronto, he held executive positions with Proctor & Gamble, and Young and Rubican Advertising Agency, plus worked in broadcasting and public relations companies. Davis joined MCA TV International as head of Canadian operations in 1978. He was moved to New York City and eventually to the company headquarters, Universal Studios in Los Angeles where he was named President of MCA TV International. Colin retired in 1996, dividing his time between Bermuda and Toronto, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his beloved Granddaughter Emma. The Davis family wishes to thank the staff at the Birchmount Hospital for their care and kindness. A celebration of life will take place post COVID.

Colin and I met in the Toronto advertising agency business in the 70’s,
Colin born in England was a progressive and a driving force in the Canadian advertising industry during this period. I am very sorry to learn of his passing far too soon.

Sharon and Emma, We had the pleasure of meeting your father/grandad at Carleton University a few years ago when Emma and Keegan were graduating. It was very interesting to listen to Colin's animated stories about his exciting life. It was a lovely celebration and we are so glad to have met him. He was so very proud of both of you. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Sandi and Bill Hughes
