Cory Mistysyn Obituary

MISTYSYN, Cory - It is with profound sadness that we announce that Cory Mistysyn passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the age of 32. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Kimberly Mistysyn (Cynthia Redman) and Stacie Mistysyn (James Gallanders), parents Laurie Nadir (Jeff) and Robert Mistysyn (Ainslie), and nephews Kyle and William Mistysyn. Cory was a talented computer programmer and musician/songwriter with a gentle, sensitive soul and strong principles. A private memorial ceremony will be held by the family at a later time.

it's been 15 years since i last saw cory. at glehill, i remember him bringing his guitar to class and performing la bamba. at the time, i too was a performer (outside of school) but wouldn't sing in front of my peers. he sang and played! i was jealous.
i still have his cd he made in high school. "she comes, she wakes me" i sing around the house to this day.
to cory's family, i am sorry for your loss.

Corey had such a great heart and warm spirit. We had great times listening to music, especially the stuff he was making, and it was great to see and be part of his creative excitement. I am really saddened to hear he's gone, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I received a call form our friend Vicky Danes (CBC Graphics) Wednesday morning, telling me the very sad news. I met Cory years ago when the Mistysyn family was Young and together.
I remember Bob telling me about Cory's interest in music and learning the Violin and how he loved this. I can't imagine the loss to your family Bob, but it will be better one day.

I have very fond memories of playing with Cory when we were kids. We would split our time between Dr. Who (his preference) and Star Wars (mine). I recall visiting his home and being welcomed by a truly lovely family. I am very sorry to hear of your loss.
