CRAIG LOWE Obituary

CRAIG LOWE October 28, 1972 to August 2, 2014 Treasure hunter, lover of life and a passionate adventure seeker. We lost Craig much sooner than we should have. Craig was always smiling, kind and fired up about whatever life was bringing next. His energy was contagious and never-ending. His children were everything to him and they lit up his life. Amazing husband to Kaley and wonderful father to Sydney, Alexa, Ryley and Lainey. Beloved brother of Kristi, son of Don and Jacquie Lowe, son-in-law of Gail and Alex Gray and grandson of Jack and Eileen Finan. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Turtle Creek Golf Course at 11660 Guelph Line, Campbellville, L0P 1B0. Please wear casual and colourful clothes, he would have wanted it this way. In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider sending your best story, memory, picture or video of Craig at any age to: [email protected] We will use them to create a memory book for his children. You may submit more than one, as we know some of you have lots! We would like to have them all.

I just saw the show where MH tells of Craig´s passing. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. From what I saw of him on the show, he was a man dedicated to his job, did it right, and so enjoyed passing information on to those who wanted to learn more about his trade. A true professional.

I have many good memories of watching Craig paint on different projects for Mike Holmes. Once he duct taped two empty paint buckets to his shoes so he could reach the high areas of a room which cracked me up because I'm only 5'2" tall. Genius! Another story of appreciation is when he explained how to correctly apply paint to window trim and then properly 'lay' it down to prevent brush strokes. He truly loved his work and it showed. Unknowingly, he was teaching us his trade. I will always appreciate him.

just recently learned of Craig passing. I was a fan of all of Mike Holmes shows and enjoyed Craig as the painter.
He explained and made me more aware and better at doing it as a DIY.
My condolences to his family.
Sorry i learned about it so late.

Still missing you Craig! Loved your work... and you were a cutie! You did superior work and I haven't seen anyone do it that well in my area (MD) or since your untimely passing on Holmes Makes it right! It was so clever of you to use the empty buckets taped to your shoes to gain height for your higher jobs...hummm maybe I'll finally try that...maybe...maybe not!

Hope the wife and kids are doing ok and your memories are living on with them all! God bless your entire Family.

You can tell by his work and presence on Holmes shows that Craig was an expert painter, a professional worker, an educator and a wonderful person. I will always remember that to stain you can open the wood with water, that green tape should have a light coat first to seal the tape before a thicker coat and remove the tape wet and to consider standing doors in a spare room with a small piece of wood supporting them accordion-style to spray them... I will always think of Craig as I refer to his advice and teaching. I am not ashamed to relay that I cried when he passed. Bye Craig... may your family take solace that you will be remembered.

I watch him on Holmes make it right on many episodes! I'm 66 and remember how much fun life is. I also loved water, work and life in general! Just saw rerun of episode in memory of Craig Lowe. He was such a great talent, so passionate about his work. You could tell he really cared. Loved the fireplace he revamped with a tinting product, so beautiful. He was a joy to watch and learn from. Like all who work with Mike Holmes. Such integrity. Sadden to learn of his passing, he had so much more to contribute. So sorry for your loss. He was certainly a person who did his family proud. My sympathies to his wife, children and friends.

Just watched a Holmes Makes It Right episode that was dedicated to Craig. I watch the show all the time and Craig's face and job as the "Painter" always stood out. I remember when I first watched this show in 2012 and the first thing I noticed was Craig the "Cute Guy", I said, "Ohhhh, he's a cutie!" :). The world is a much lonelier and sadder place without Craig. My condolences goes out to Craig's wife and children, MH and friends. Craig is now painting the LORD's home now and explaining to Jesus how important it is to prime then paint. Your absence is noticed. You are missed. MUCH LOVE!

Mike Holmes always had the best people who were reliable, honest, trustworthy, had integrity, and cared about the quality of their work !!! Watching Mikes many shows of Craig's painting work, his tips and comments, and work style I could see why Mike enjoyed working with Craig.... I always enjoyed watching Craig paint and admired his work as Mike explained what was done to the homes he worked on and WHO got the credit for the work done inside or outside. As a handyman here in Florida, I saw the exquisite and marvelous paint jobs done by Craig, a master painter who put his heart and soul into his work !!! The world will not forget Craig Lowe, his legacy will live on forever !!! My condolence to the family.

So very shocked to see the dedication to Craig after the Holmes on Holmes show run last night- more so that it was almost a year ago! Never knew this man- but having him make painting seem so effortless in our living room for so many years on the TV show makes you feel as though you do know them... He seemed so kind and dedicated to his work. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends I am sure the past year has been a difficult one... I hope that they hold his memory close in their hearts and it gives them strength when they need it the most. All good wishes...

I just watched the Holmes show last night which was dedicated to Craig Lowe. To say I was shocked and saddened by this news is to say the least. I only knew him through the show but he really made an impression on me as a decent guy. It's funny how this part of his personality came through so strongly through a television program. I had always wished that I could have met him in person. My heartfelt condolences to his wife and children and also to the Holmes crew who clearly were family to him as well.

To the Family, Friends and Crew of Craig:
Like so many I came to love Craig on the H on H show; his gentle spirit, humble demeanor and love for expertise surely came through. "Good man Craig!" is what I'd always say to him when watching the show and now I know without a doubt it's true. I'll be praying for you all for this great loss (but the Lord's gain to have Craig home with him). Know that I and my family grieve with you even though we didn't know him personally. I leave you all with these words from Jesus the Christ; "blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted." Mt 5:4 I trust you're leaning on Him.

It's strange how the life of a stranger can mean so much to us. Of course we never met Craig, we only saw the work he had done on the Holmes shows. And yet he touched us. Perhaps because we have done quite a bit of home work, including painting, that we felt a close kinship. We loved his passion and dedication to excellence. In fact my Wife always joked about she would love to have Craig over to help us do just one more paint job. We just discovered his passing and we would like to share our deepest condolences to Craig's family and friends. We will miss seeing him and watching him make that perfect cut in to the ceiling. Rest in Peace...

I have watched the Holmes on Home show for quite a few years. I DVR most of them and just found out that Craig had passed away. I have watched Craig on these episodes, and as many other folks have said, I am a much better painter for having known him. I'm glad he was doing something he loved to do. God bless to his family.

Watching a recording of Holmes on Homes last night and at the end of the segment, I was shocked to see that the show was dedicated to Craig. I always enjoyed watching the short times he was shown, and how well he painted. I told my husband that it would be nice to hire him, no matter what it cost. We live in Sherwood Park, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. I know we will miss seeing him on the show, my heart goes out to his family's. So very sorry for your loss, he was gone much too soon. I have been a "frequent watcher" of the Mike Holmes show, and have followed Craig's helpful hints and welcomed shortcuts to increase my limited painting skills. Learning from someone who loves what he does, takes much of the anxiety away when shown just how easy it COULD be and Craig was a pleasure of watch and learn from. I am sooo very sorry that we was taken too early from his family and his friends. I will miss not seeing his quiet gentle smile when I turn on the TV to watch future shows. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
