D. CAVERLY Obituary
CAVERLY, D. JOAN Peacefully, we bid Godspeed to our wonderful sister, D. Joan Caverly on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at age 80. Joan was the eldest child of Howard and Dot Caverly of North Bay, leading the parade of eight children in total. Predeceased by her parents; brother, Garry; and sisters, Nadine and Deborah. Survived by siblings, Kathleen Silver (Larry) of Cambridge Ont., Scott Caverly (Stacey) of North Bay, Kirk Caverly of North Bay and Rosemary Savoie (Larry) of Guelph. Sadly missed by beloved sister-in-law, Brenda Jean Caverly of North Bay; along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by cousins, Allan Caverley (Australia) and Wayne Caverly (Sudbury). In fulfillment of Joan's wishes, Cremation has taken place and arrangements will be made for Mass to be said at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Clifton Rd. in Toronto. Joan led an accomplished life having served many years as office manager at the University of Toronto's Medical Society. A graduate of George Brown College, Joan earned her title as 'the Bread Lady' teaching many students the secrets to successful bread making to suit many specialized diet requirements. Joan also volunteered for many years to support the St.Vincent dePaul Society. Joan was a voracious reader and a very familiar face at the local library, forever seeking to slake her thirst for knowledge. Also a talented writer, Joan was working on her own memoirs of a life well-lived. The family gratefully acknowledges Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Green Team of doctors and nurses who gave Joan such wonderful care. Heartfelt thanks as well to the staff at St. John's Rehabilitation Hospital. Special thanks to Sunnybrook Dr. David Juurlink and Dr. Lesia Wynnychuk along with Fatima at Affordable Burial and Cremations for their very personal and patient attention in this difficult time. Our family wishes to thank Joan's many supportive friends and neighbours who personify what community means. Thanks to Margaret, Sinead, Marie and Jim, Dennis, Wendy and so many more. Thank you all.
