MATHESON, Daniel Gavin Passed away peacefully at the Roberta Place Long Term Care in Barrie on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Linda of 53 years. Loving father of Susan (Sam) and Danny (Joannah). Dear grandfather of Emily, Amelia and Audrey. Survived by his sisters Roberta, Jean and Elaine. While Dan was in school, he would work on the steam trains from Toronto to Montreal each night shoveling coal, later to work in the yard office at Highway 7. In 1971, the family built a house in Stroud where he was on the Stroud Fire Department and drove a truck until his retirement. Friends may call at the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
