Barb,

Erin and I had the pleasure to meet Darren at Zaks not long ago. Though we had never met him before, he struck us as such a positive person who felt like an old friend. Darren left his impression on us and reminds us of what is truly important as we move through our lives, that we make a difference and that we are loved. Erin and I are praying for you and your family, and remembering Darren and his well lived life.

Barb,
It is with the most deep and sincere sympathy I extend my love for you. Darren was by far a most amazing man with a very gracious, kind and loving spirit. He had a genuine interest others and shared his warm personality that made a person feel special. I enjoyed his visits over the years. I have fond memories of fishing and boating. I am truly sorry for your loss and want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you. May happy memories eventually brighten the quiet hours and I hope the presence and love of others provides you with immense comfort at this time.

Barb, while I didn't know you personally, this story has touched my heart deeply. I know Darren and perhaps yourself know my children, Brodie and Jayde, through their dad and Darren's close friend, Vince Lavoie. Your husband is truly such a wonderful positive man, and I love his philosophy of the glass being half full; that's how we all ought to look at life. Not a day goes by that I don't laugh and/or cry, and very often, both. Vince and the kids spoke so so highly of him, and I'm so glad they shared so many special times, especially this summer. Barb, I want you to know you're in my thoughts and prayers. I will be walking in the Weekend to End Women's Cancers again this year, my 11th year in a row, and I dedicate this walk to you and your courageous fight. I will be thinking of you with every step and may god bless you, until you meet again. xo
