David Barry Finkler

David Finkler Obituary

FINKLER, David Barry - Son of the late Cecil and Louise. Passed away peacefully Sunday, October 26, 2008, at the age of 50, surrounded by his family and friends, at Princess Margaret Hospital. David was a winning team member on the Canadian Senior Men's Championship Softball game in Ottawa 1981 and proudly represented Canada at the Maccabia Games in Israel 1993. Loving husband to Effie, cherished father to Adam. Devoted and much loved brother to Karon, Joel, Gary (Louise), Daniel and Natalie (Blake). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We will miss his affectionate hugs and kisses. Grateful thanks to the staff at Toronto General Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Jewish Family and Child, Mount Sinai Hospital, Saint Elizabeth Health Care and the Temmy Latner Centre, plus our many friends for their compassionate care and support throughout David's illness. Service will be held at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Ave. W. on Tuesday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Beth Tzedec Memorial Park. www.benjamins.ca.

i grew up with david and his family david and I played
softball on the same team at kinsmen park near his home and visted his home enjoyed his family gary also was a friend of my brother gary my best to his family david s memory is a very very good one love you david by the way that ball was out

I am so sorry to hear about David. Natalie was very good friends with my sister Corrine Sepp who also passed away from cancer this past January. They are in good company and not suffering anymore.

my deepest sympathies to David's family. David coached our junior maccabi team in 1986 and i have very fond memories of that team and of David.
