DAVID GRIER Obituary

DAVID JAMES "SCOTTY" GRIER David passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife Irene (nee Corbisier), of 46 years. David was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on December 25, 1944 to James Grier and Margaret (Roy). The fifth of six boys, Dave grew up with brothers Jim, Tom (both deceased), Andrew, George and Robert (deceased). David arrived in Canada as a young man on July 1, 1966, but remained forever proud of his Scottish heritage. In Canada, he built a successful retail construction business over years of hard work. David was especially proud of his family, including sons Jason (Phil) and Stuart (Wendy), his grandchildren Kai, David, Nathaniel, Bradley, Liam and Joanna, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who meant so much to him. So many others he considered as family. Ever a practical joker, David was famous for his sense of humour and easy going manner. He had a love for football (soccer), especially his beloved Glasgow Rangers. Golf was also a passion for him and he loved the hours he spent on (and off) the course with friends, just as he loved those hours working in his garden or boating on the lake. Family and friends are invited to gather at the McKERSIE-KOCHER FUNERAL HOME, 114 Main Street East, Milton, 905-878-4452, on Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Online condolences and sharing of memories are encouraged at www.mckersie-kocher.ca
