Today I paid my respects to my former employer.
"Dave you have many clients who will miss the care and compassion you had for their beloved pets and two employees who lost not only a boss but a friend. I wil forever remember you for giving me the dream I had to work in the veterinary profession and I say thank you. We didn't always see eye to eye but I did have great respect for you. The world lost a great caring and compassionate veterinarian but the beloved pets who have crossed and have yet to cross the Rainbow Bridge will be cared for with great love until reunited with their beloved owners."
RIP Dave
P.s. Don't feed Scully too much.

It was almost 30 years ago when I first met Dr. Lore, I had brought my little Dutch rabbit, Bugsy to see him. Bugsy had been my pet since my teenage years and now at 10 + years old he was no longer active and was eating poorly. I remember how kind Dr. Lore was explaining to me that my little friend had reached the end of his life. When Bugsy passed on Dr. Lore encouraged me to bring a little dog into my life. He said, "If I could have so much love for a little rabbit I needed to experience the love of a dog." In time I did just that and brought my new little puppy Willie to meet Dr.Lore, I remember how patient and kind Dr.Lore was with this first time "puppy Mom", answering my many questions and calming my fears. I had not had Willie very long when I noticed something was wrong with his eyes. They appeared to have a film covering them, fearing something was terribly wrong, I called Dr.Lore and he told me to bring Willie right over. That was the day I learned that dogs have a second eyelid that comes down when they are sleeping. Dr.Lore told me there was nothing wrong with my puppy other than needing his Mom to let him sleep. We had
some laughs over that. Willie loved Dr.Lore who cared for him for the next 16 years until the day, together we all said good bye. Dr.Lore has cared for all my animals through the years, and was a kind, compassionate friend. He will always have a special place in our hearts.

My condolences at the passing of David. He is now with his mother and father. His mother was my second mother and my pre K teacher. His father was a med student who shared a room with his uncle at the same place where his mother worked. Both are dearly remembered. David reminds me so much of memories with his father and uncle.
Regret, due to surgery, I shall not be with you guys tomorrow physically. I shall be there in spirit and shall keep in touch.

Jodie and I have worked for Cliffcrest Animal Clinic for many, many years, and not only was Dr. Lore our boss, he was our friend. Dr. Lore loved to laugh, to discuss politics, or give an in depth history lesson. He was an avid reader, and collector of many things. He was a compassionate veterinarian, who cared very much about his patients and clients, always trying to make every transition in their lives as smooth as possible.
We hope his transition is equally as smooth, knowing his beloved dogs, Liz, Russell, and Becky are well taken care of in their new loving homes.
Rest in peace Dr. Lore, the devoted staff at Cliffcrest Animal Clinic, Jodie and Peggy

We were so very sad to hear of the passing of Dr Lore. He,together with Peggy & Jodie, was a big part of our wonderful learning curve when we got our first dog Sullivan. Dr Lore was always so pleased to see us come in the door, and always had such a great connection with Sully, along with a real conviction to ensure that we always knew what was happening and understood the "medical imlications" of any abnormalities. His concern for our dog when he was sick and at the end of his life was extremely touching and so helpful to our family. When our next dog came along, Dr Lore took great pleasure in letting "his girl" play with Murphy whenever we were in. We often spent lots of extra time in the clinic chatting with Dr Lore, quickly realizing what a bright, interesting, well read, and gentle soul he was. We have all lost a great man. I do hope that he is now enjoying time with many of his furry friends who have gone before him. Rest in Peace Dr Lore, and thank you for all your gentle care,

It is with great sadness I write this post as Dr. Lore was a treasure. He was always there with compassion and humour whenever Kody, Ziggy or Roc and of course us when we needed him. He will be greatly missed by all. I'm sure Kody and Roc are getting treats and wagging their tails at seeing Dr. Lore once again...take care of each other!

As an employee of Dr Lore's over 30 years ago, I can tell you first hand that he was a compassionate and caring veterinarian as well as a family friend and gentle soul. He expected a high level of service for his clients because each one of his patients was as important as the next. I remained a client of Dr Lore's long after my employment during University as his knowledge and compassion was second to none. I will miss his laughter and sense of humour and my dogs will miss their visits with him , the staff and his crew of dogs...especially "Beckinstein!" Rest easy my friend and know that you will be truly missed.

Words cannot express the loss of this caring and gentle man. Between Dr. Lore and his amazing staff just a year ago they saved our chow-chow who had suddenly become lame. Dr. Lore you were the one who brought her back from the brink and we can never forget that. The kind words to us and to our pets, you always stroked them and spoke to them and we always felt we could count on you to figure things out and you always took time to explain and break down the medical aspect and did not over whelm us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us when our Gump had to say good-bye. Now it's our turn to say good-bye, but never, ever, will we forget you!!!!

Dr. Lore was a special person who was kind and gentle with both the pets and people. When we had to put Peppermint Patti to sleep in 2014 he was very touched by the passing of our beloved dog and comforted us on such a sad day. Dr Lore will be greatly missed.

Dr. Lore was a fantastic vet and a great person. I started taking all my pets to see him when I was just 11 yrs old just after he opened the clinic. No other vet has been the same, the personal care was incredible. He will be missed.

I loved visiting Auntie Lil's home when Uncle George and Auntie Vi visited from Vancouver. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit with my mom's extended family (The Yeungs). As a little girl, I was afraid of David's BIG dogs, Auntie Lil and Auntie Vi were always quick to come to my rescue when the dogs came near me (and they liked me)! I remember seeing the dogs toothbrushes in the powder room and thinking, they are definitely members of the family. The best part of our visits was when David would take us down to his games' room. He would let us play on his pool table even though we really had no idea how to play and best of all, he let us play on his pinball machine. I can remember Al, Natalie, and I anxiously waiting for our turn to play, we never wanted to leave. As young children, David made our visits so much fun! I remember him as being quiet, but always enjoyable and funny to listen to when he engaged in conversation. I hope he knew how much fun we had when we visited with him!
