We can only wish the world had more David Shakespeares. He was a good friend, was utterly dependable and of the highest integrity. He will be sorely missed in the community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

It was a privilege to have known David. We all admired his strong but considerate nature and the quietly knowledgeable and thorough manner in which he did things. As a club member he shared his enthusiasm for Norton motorcycles of course and if you were not previously a Norton man, you felt that you must have missed out on a significant chunk of life. This is a regretful loss of a good man and colleague. "God Speed to you Dave. May your path be blessed with beautiful experiences around every exciting bend on your road.”
Our prayers are with David’s wife Luci and also his brother Paul and sister Maureen. We offer our support to be called on, at any time. Our condolences also go out to David’s extended family.

With sincere wishes
From the GPR Executive on behalf of all members of the Great Pine Ridge section, Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (CVMG).

Dear Luci,
We were saddened to read about David's passing in The Star last week. He was such a delight to work with, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit when he came to Stratford to help on a couple of Lighting jobs. We particularly remember the conference we all attended in Jupiter Beach. We are thinking of you.

We met David and Lucy on their visits to England. Their affection and happiness were infectious and all-embracing. Our memories of David remain loving and warm and our thoughts during this very sad time are with his family.

It is with great sadness I am writing this. My husband and I met Dave & Luci years ago when we came to Toronto from Fort Frances, Ontario. The backyards were corner to corner. Ours on Finch Ave and theirs on Duplex in North York. We became good friends. We made many memories together over the years. Playing cards & different games on the weekends. Barbecues, dinners, many trips south in the winter months. Dave & my husband para-sailed and snorkeled in Jamaica. They golfed on weekends. We learn how to down-hill ski, going to Blue Mountain, Monte Tremblay, and Ste Annes. My husband and Dave took sailing lessons together. We sailed Harbour Front and watched the fireworks from the boat on the first of July. We sailed for a week on Georgian Bay, with my children. I remember everyone of their dogs, especially Molson. We went to many concerts, and Cirque du Soleil. We did a road trip to Fort Frances, rented a cottage on the lake. There were fly-in fishing trips, with my husband and many other friends. When my eldest daughter was married, she dressed for her wedding at their home. I knew Dave's mom and sister, his nieces. He knew our family.
We were family. Dave may be gone, but the memories will always remain. I feel quite sure Dave is with Larry and Gary, doing what they do best. Love to all them.
