Dave when you were recovering I told you to take it easy - I said you have to take baby steps and you said I've never taken baby steps. I now realize that you could never take baby steps because you, my friend, are a giant! You were a giant in life, we had a giant friendship, and you left a giant impact on everything you did. I will miss you dearly & I think of you daily.

Love your Irish friend,

Who knew that a casual remark to colleague 15 years ago about the difficulties of finding a trustworthy contractor would lead to all that followed.. a meeting, a project (the first of many) and from that a special friendship.

Our lives were enriched by becoming a part of Dave's world and the many wonderful people in it. So many good times, so many laughs, so many cherished memories.

Dave, you had a heart and spirit as great as all outdoors and you'll be deeply missed by many. It helps a little to think about all of the good that you did and how the world was a better place for having had you in it. Going forward, we need to take every opportunity to love, to laugh, to give and to rock on, in order to keep that spirit alive.

A day has not passed since Feb 22, when l don't think of you. Your incredible energy, smile and bounce in your step. As the oldest you always had a twinkle in your eye, and gave mom and dad a lot of sleepless nites in your teens. You led by example and made mom ,dad and l so proud. You were a free spirit with work ethic, conviction, compassion, and values. I don't think a day will pass in my life when l don't smile, thinking of you. Love Always Steve

Kind Intelligent Noble Genuine a real King. There are two types of kings. Ones that are followed because of fear and others that are followed out of love and respect and if you met David Wyse(The Reno King) it is clear which one he was. He was a father a friend and a true motivator that proved anything is possible if you want it bad enough and are willing to put the time and hard work in. Dave was always quick to pick up the guitar and get the party going, especially sitting around the fire pit. I still remember like it was yesterday Dave taking me to a pawn shop down town Toronto he knew to get my first guitar( A pearl 1987 Gibson epiphone) Not only did Dave teach me how to renovate from the ground up he taught me how be a shark in the game of pool and to be a man of my word. "speak what you know and know what you speak" "So when they call your bluff you got nothing to worry about" Until we are all reunited again tell Poppa I love him and give him a hug for me. God bless the Irish.

Dave was and will always be someone who has shaped who I have become in life. I'm always thinking about that booming laugh of his. Dave was another tough guy in our family, because he didn't let anyone see when he got emotional. No, really Dave, those 16,451 times went completely unnoticed. :P You were there for me during my happiest times and my darkest times. However much you thought you were loved, believe me, it was a lot more than that.

I will always remember Dave driving us way too fast in the boat, telling stories with so much heart and passion, and dancing into the wee hours at our wedding. That's the kind of guy he was; full of life and fun. That is how he will be remembered and may he remain always in our hearts.

First meeting with Dave. Combed my hair, told Aubrey we had to be on our best behaviour. In Dave comes that big smile on his face, shakes hands. I know we have roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for dinner. Yummy. Oh yeah Right. What does Dave ask for Mint Sauce. Best behaviour went right there. We all got big hugs when he left.
Lots of good memories at the cottage, laughs, singing and eating.
I felt honoured near Dave's last days. He called my name, I sat near him, he reached for my hand and held it tight, gave me his smile.
Mint sauce still in the cupboard.

David was an important part of our life. I believe he touched every part of our house not only with his tools but with his integrity and spirit. Always available, always reliable and totally trustworthy, there was much to learn from him and those he surrounded himself with. It seems impossible to believe we will never spend time with him again in this world. He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed. Susan, our condolences to you and your family. He loved all of you dearly.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Dave's passing, and my deepest condolences go to his family. I first met Dave 27 years ago when he took guitar lessons at my music school. He subsequently did some excellent reno work on my house (generously letting me get involved, which was a great learning experience!) We'd hang out now and then as well, and he was always a pleasure to be with. God bless you Dave!

I knew David socially and through our guy trips. You were special...so easy-going, generous and just plain fun to share a laugh or "Dave story" with. I was so excited to hear we would be neighbours in Florida and we would get to know you even better. Sadly, your time was too short and our hearts ache at our collective loss. We were lucky to have known you, Dave. Our sympathies to Susan, Stephen and family. Love you all. Boris and Yvonna.

My husband and I only met David last year, because he was to oversee and help with the Reno of our kitchen. We formed an immediate connection and felt so comfortable with his competence and expertise. We were saddened to learn of his untimely passing and wish to extend our sincere sympathies to his entire family, who he often spoke of lovingly.

Our deepest sympathy to Susan, Justin, Nathan and extended family.
Our family had the privilege of David renovating our home in 1998. He was so generous, caring and kind and took great pride in his work. He was a very special person; someone you would want to know better. He kept in touch and would drop by when he was in our neighbourhood. My husband Orest would shoot pool at our local pool hall when David took a bit of time for himself and we joined him in a boisterous celebration of his 50th. I proudly passed along his name to friends who needed his services and never regretted recommending him. They were as pleased and thankful to have known him as we had been. RIP sweet David.

David handled our home reno in 2003 and we stayed in touch off and on for a couple of years. He was such a thorough professional and decent fellow, I was glad our rather complex reno was in his hands. There wasn't a problem he couldn't fix or a crisis he couldn't handle with complete calm and good humour. He was just one of those people that helps the world run more smoothly.

So sad and so young ! I will remember him always dancing on the dance floor. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed the parties, all of the time. He was kind and funny and as I text to Dave - "Bad things do happen to good people, we will never figure it out or prevent it, or understand it". I will remember him for the way he was and offer my sincere condolences to his close family and all those who knew him - and there were a lot of people who knew him and remembered him.
