Deborah CHAPMAN Obituary

CHAPMAN, Deborah Louise (nee Stephenson) - Passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Beloved wife of Terry Robert Chapman. Loving mother of Bradley Robert and his wife Cathy Dolores (Bonnell) and Jamie Lee and his wife Stacey Lynn (Sprague). Cherished Nana of Paige Mary Kathleen, Claire Victoria, Maia Grace and Quinn Robert. Dear daughter of Don Bayne and Irene Ruth Stephenson and Robert Henry and Kathleen Elizabeth Chapman. Dear sister of Valerie Louise Scott, Martin Wayne Stephenson and Julie Irene Beech. Deb was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to so many. She was a dynamic, energetic, giving person who always put others first. She was a real estate agent who went above and beyond the call of duty for her clients, helping them to buy and sell not just houses, but homes. She often painted, decorated and staged the homes, adding her personal touch. Many of those clients became close friends. Above all, she was a great person who loved with all her heart and will be sadly missed by so many. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road), 905-440-3595, on Thursday, June 5th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, June 6th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the DeStefano Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In memory of Deb, donations may be made to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre. I have known Deb for just a few short years, and I have really enjoyed her zest for life! She always was busy doing for others, and I also had the privilege of having her help with ideas and decorating ideas for my home. What a great lady she was! I will really miss her! My thoughts are with Terry and her family during this difficult time!

I met Deb while looking to buy a house. We instantly became close friends. We travelled together, shopped till we dropped, and spent time at the Chapman's cottage. We went on cruises and had many laughs. When Deb sold me my Pickering house she painted it from stem to stern while I was working. She helped decorate it. She always made me laugh. Deb was my best friend. I will miss her always. My prayers are for her family. We all have an Angel looking over us.

Over the past 12 years, Deb has grown to be one of my dearest friends. I always admired her cheery disposition and seemingly boundless energy. She had an amazing sense of style and was full of creative ideas and suggestions, all of which she shared so generously. She lived an amazing, happy life and enjoyed it to the fullest. We shared many good times and a few tears along the way. I will miss our long conversations on the phone and over tea in the home she helped me buy and decorate. The conversations will continue though, now in my heart and in my mind. And we will meet again someday, when it will be me calling to tell her to put the kettle on - I'm just around the corner.

Rest in peace my friend. I suspect you're already giving heaven a makeover. And if I know you, the pearly gates are getting a paint job: willow CC-542 by Benjamin Moore.

My condolences to Deb's wonderful family. They meant the world to her.
