Deborah Manners Obituary

MANNERS, Deborah Gloria (nee Cousins) —

It is with much sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Debby Manners on March 24, 2017 at the age of 60. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Doreen, and her sister Gayle (Ches), predeceased by her father Bill. Cherished wife to the late Bill Manners, beloved mother to her three daughters Rebecca (Jeff), Amy (David) and Hollie (Sean), loving Nanny to Nathan, Cole, Ciara, Lucus, Ashton, Emily, Lydia and Jacob, and Aunt to many nieces and nephews, including Addam, Jason and Wyndi. A friend and mentor to many, she will especially be missed by Lori Gvazdaitis and Lorna Thompson. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the incredible staff at Toronto General Hospital CICU and MSICU. Debby, a devoted RPN since 1974, who had just retired from Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General) after 23 years, was extremely proud of her career and her profession which never wavered over decades of dedication. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Lake House, 600 Liverpool Road, Pickering, Ontario, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 between the hours of 4 and 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Michael Garron Hospital – Outpatient Department or to the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

I am so very sorry at the loss of my childhood friend from Heale Avenue in Scarborough. We recently reconnected after many years and was shocked to learn of her passing. Debbie expressed just how proud she was of her family through Facebook postings. My deep condolences to all who loved her. Alice (Bednarz) Juul, Wasaga Beach, Ont.
