DEREK MASTERSON Obituary
MASTERSON, DEREK STEPHEN July 11, 1989 - December 12, 2021 Suddenly and unexpectedly, early on Sunday morning, after walking his dog. Left heartbroken, his mother Eunice, father Steve, and brother Gavin. Anyone who knew Derek, knew what a thoroughly decent, caring human being he was. He loved acting and writing and music. He had a marvelously dry sense of humour fueled by his strong convictions about what was right and what was wrong in the world. A graduate of SDSS and York University and a valued member of the Spring Lakes Golf Club operations staff. Reunited now with his little sister, Zoe and his beagle Daphne. A new star in heaven, our beautiful, kind, wonderful son. Visitation Saturday, December 18th, 1-3 p.m. at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue, Markham. Not sure Derek would have remembered me but we took an acting class together at Second City almost 10 years ago. I wish I could offer a story but I can say that when I met Derek he seemed very cool, and down to earth. I made a habit of periodically checking on fellow classmates to see what projects they have been working on. Last night I came across Derek and I was very sad to see the news. I know I´m just a stranger at this point but I would like to offer my condolences. It was a pleasure meeting you Derek.
