BLECHSCHMIDT, Donald It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Donald (Doc) Blechschmidt, who died on April 25, 2021, after a seven-year battle with cancer. He passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joan; his children, Ian (Kate), Eileen, Kelly (Sean), and Leah; his grandchildren, Loghan and baby-girl-to-be; his sister, Sue (Dave); his brother, Stephen; and his mother, Mary. Don was a family physician in Brampton for 40 years before his retirement in 2020. He loved his family and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will be missed for his kindness, his patience, his decency, and his quiet, hilarious sense of humor. We are deeply saddened by his passing, but grateful for the time we had with him. His family is also grateful for the love and support shown by family, friends, and community.
