COWLING, Donald Frederick - (May 19, 1920 - October 20, 2010) Don Cowling of Meaford passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in his 91st year. Don was born in the Beach of Toronto, son of the late Charles Edward and Beatrice (née Doran) Cowling. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Caroline 'Carrie' (née Kingston) Cowling for 69 years. Dear father of Carol Ann Ferguson (Thom Christmann) of Meaford, Donna Kearns (Rob) of Thornbury and Nancy Primak (Jerry) of Meaford. Dearly loved grandfather of Alanna Erskins (Danny), Grant Kearns (Anne Wildeman), Neil Kearns (Kim), Alison Kearns (John Kuruvilla), Michael Primak and Kari Primak. Great-grandfather of Owen, Jack, Ava and Mya Kearns. Fondly remembered by Thom and Tim Christmann and their families and by Taras and Oleh Primak. Predeceased by a son-in-law Allan 'Gus' Ferguson (2000) and by a grandson Sean Ferguson (1991). Family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Friday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. Pythagoras Lodge AF & AM No. 137 GRC will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Reverend Dr. Robert Buchanan, will be conducted at Knox Presbyterian Church in Meaford on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2 o'clock. A family service of interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
