DONALD ROY McCRON November 29, 1919 - October 7, 2011 Passed away peacefully on October 7, 2011 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Mary McCron, much loved father to Karen (Dave), Donna (Art) Harry (Connie) and Jim (Sandra). Loving grandfather of Ryan, Corey (Reenie), Kristin, Ashley, Andra (Blake), Andrew, Alyssa (Chris), Jennifer and Brandon. Special Great- Grandad to Stephanie, Faith, Trever, Spenser, Paige, Aiden, Arlene, Johi and the late Jake. Loved brother to Robert, Joyce and Margaret. Predeceased by Helen, Betty, Ruth, George and Irene. Despite the challenges of his last years, Don lived a full life. He enjoyed 60 years of wedded bliss with Mary, his beloved Dutch war bride. Don was a proud veteran of World War II serving with the 48th Highlanders. He was also a much respected Past Potentate of the Rameses' Shrine, a co-founder of the Scarborough Shrine Club and a proud member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was a retired, long term employee of the LCBO. We will always remember his devilish grin and his big warm heart. We love you Dad. We will miss you always. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital, Veterans Wing, K2 Wing, for the impeccable and loving care given to our father in his last years. A service celebrating Don's life will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 12:00 noon at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229), with refreshments to follow.
