Donald Alexander RUSSELL
RUSSELL, Donald Alexander In Loving Memory With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Donald A. Russell on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the age of 89. Don passed peacefully, with his family by his side, at Fountainview Nursing Home in Toronto. Beloved husband of Eileen and loving and proud father of Deborah (Rolf), David (Paula) and Laura (Manish). Fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren Leah, Gavin, Alex, Michelle, Kieran, Braden and Dillon. Born in the Dundalk area, Don moved from his family's farm to Toronto where he received his B.A. from the University of Toronto and pursued a successful teaching career with the Toronto District School Board. Don will be remembered for his many talents which include playing fiddle, piano and guitar. As an artisan, he created many pieces using glass, wood, and soapstone. He was active in his community and was known as the neigbourhood "Mr. Fixit". Through his love of reading and learning, he inspired others to do the same. He was an active member of both Victoria Village and The Donway Covenant United Churches. A cremation has taken place. A private memorial is being held for the immediate family. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Condolences may be left at, under Tributes. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation at
