DONNA FITZPATRICK Obituary

FITZPATRICK, DONNA LOUISE (nee WHITAKER) It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Donna's sudden passing on January 30, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario. She was born in Montreal on August 26, 1953. First among the many who mourn her passing, Donna leaves behind her husband and partner in all things, Declan. Since 1978 these two shared their love and lives with family and friends in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia and England. Donna will be dearly missed by many including her sister, Linda Manwarren (Steve), brothers Ken and Brian, Stephanie (niece), Justin (nephew) and the entire Fitzpatrick clan especially Nickie and Brian. She was predeceased by her father, Sydney (1979) and her mother, Violet (2008). Donna grew up in Montreal and began her working career in administrative support. Donna and Declan relocated to Toronto in 1981 where she eventually worked as an Office Assistant with the TDSB. Her caring and loving nature found particular joy interacting with special needs students. As a sports fan, she created frequent gatherings to watch games and engaged in texts and conversations with family and friends about the latest scores and bloopers. This interest soon led to assisting Declan in the organization of a football pool for several years. She loved hosting gatherings of family and friends at their Scarborough home. Donna was generous in spirit and caring of others, family and friends alike. We toast her with a glass of good red wine. She is missed deeply, will always live in our hearts and minds and will be remembered as a kind and loving person by many. Cremation has taken place and COVID-19 dictates we postpone any celebration of her life. We hope to have a gathering of family and close friends, when permitted, where we can share hugs, memories and love for she dearly loved pulling people together. Memories may be shared with the family at www.aftercare.org. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be sent to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, 150 Kilgour Road, Toronto, ON M4G 1R8 or through their website at www.hollandbloorview.ca

Dec and Brian (aka Moose),

We are so very sorry for your loss of Donna. She was such an amazing, caring and special person.

Donna was such a meaningful person to me during my teenage years - she was like an older sister to me. She was always there to talk to, no matter what time it was, or the day, and always made me feel like family. I will always be so grateful for those talks we had, and the time spent together.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Fitzpatrick and Whitaker families.

Dear Declan, Linda, Ken and Brian,
The news of Donna’s death was so unexpected and sad. Donna was so full of life and love of family and friends. Though not the oldest, she was the Matriarch of the Ford family and could always be counted on to stay in touch with everyone. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Rest In Peace, Donna.

My sincere condolences to Donna’s family. Although I only worked with Donna at Malvern C.I. for a short time, i will always remember her smile, her kindness to students and her wicked sense of humour.
