DOREEN B. STARR Passed away peacefully with dignity and grace at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the age of 82. Dearly loved wife of Robert (Bob) Starr for nearly 59 years. Much loved Mom of Jacqueline Starr (Brian Arbique) of Whitby and Shelley Terpstra (Mike) of Guelph. Devoted Grandma of Brett, Kristen, Megan and Carter. Survived by her brother Vernon (Hazel) and her sister Shirley Taylor (Allan). Predeceased by her parents Ellis and Beatrice Ruston as well as her brother Jack, sister Eileen and nephew Greg. Lovingly remembered by extended family and friends. Doreen recognized and enjoyed the simple things in life. She was always able to rise above life's challenges with strength, grace and dignity. She cared deeply for others and cherished her time with her family. She was a nurturing mother and loving grandmother. Her warmth, generosity and grace will be forever remembered and greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to share memories at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N., Whitby (905-655-3662) on Thursday (September 26th) from 7-9 p.m. On Friday, there will be a private family service to honour and celebrate her life. If desired, memorial donations may be directed to the Salvation Army or the Arthritis Society. Doreen will be laid to rest at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough.
