DORIS DECORTE Obituary

DECORTE, DORIS MARGERY (nee WILLMOTT) March 24, 1928 - November 8, 2022 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Margery Decorte. On the beautiful autumn afternoon of Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Doris passed away, peacefully and without pain in the Palliative Care Unit of the Scarborough General Hospital, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her loving husband, Noel (Chris) Decorte; and her sisters, Phyllis Davies, Joyce Johnson and Freda Youell. Doris will be remembered in the hearts of her stepchildren, Jennifer, Eric and Marc Decorte; her nephews, Peter and David Youell, their partners and children; and her extended family in the UK. Doris lived a full and independent life. She nurtured long lasting friendships with her neighbours, friends and work colleagues. Doris had a long and fulfilling career with Royal Doulton Canada. Upon retiring, she enjoyed an active lifestyle attending activities such as exercise classes, line dancing, concerts and theatre. Doris was a great lover of animals, and gave generously in support of animal rescue shelters and conservation organizations. At home, her bird feeders were always full and the birds and squirrels never went hungry. Doris's memory lives in the hearts of her grandchildren, Julian, Emma and Katie; her grandnieces, Emma, Shannon and Candace; grandnephew, Justin; and by family partners, Jane Flanders, Sharron Broughton, Norah Johnson-Youell and Dawn Mitchell. The family would like to thank everyone who provided care. Notably among them are her doctor and staff at the Victoria Health Clinic for their excellent geriatric care, the staff and care team at RSBL Toronto, and the Palliative Care Team at the Scarborough General Hospital during her brief stay with them. In keeping with Doris' wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service In lieu of flowers, personal contributions to Alzheimer Society of Canada, or to an animal shelter of your choice would be appreciated.

My sincere condolences to Doris' family. She was a dear, dear friend to my mother Betty Jarman and was always up for a long visit when me and my girls came to Toronto from out west. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. As of Sunday December 3rd of this year she is reunited with my mom. Girls, dont get into too much mischief now that you are together again.
All the best to you all.
Nancy Jarman Thomson and family.
